Terence McKenna

Every once in a while, I like to remind people about Terence Mckenna.
I hereby do so yet again. I like Terence's books a lot. I love his theories and
vision of who we are and what we were and how we got to be that way (this way) .
He was an awesome botanist and do-it yourselfer.

My blog posts refresh you with their brevity!

I'm lazy....tee hee!

Seriously. I'm the laziest blogger ever.
Here's proof. I followed the Joe Lieberman primary drubbing
with great interest, but all I'm going to say about it is
read this. And by "this" I mean: click on the word "this"
in the previous sentence.
OH! Snap! Not only am I lazy, I'm unctiously condescending.
At least tonight anyway. Sorry,
it's been a taxing week. So I beg your forbearance, Dear Internet.
Just to show I still love you, click here for good times.
See?

More electron imprints

One of my super keen new work pals recommended a band to me the other day.
We had been talking about our mutual admiration for The Flaming Lips and I mentioned
that I heavily dig the WEEN brothers as well. my friend is a younger fellow so the
associations he makes between bands are of course different than mine, but he
suggested I check out the Shins. I got their album Oh Inverted World and
I cannot stop listening to that damned thing. It's frustrating because I don't know the
words, and yet I am compelled to sing along.
Perhaps there are those among you who have experienced this bittersweet....experience.

More about PIL

Referenced Pil in my last post. Yep. Sure did.
I used to listen to them when I was a teenager.
During this time of my life I was profoundly impressed
with their album The Flowers of Romance.
You can hardly find it now. It didn't do well in terms of sales, I suppose.

I think it's funny that the name "flowers of romance" was originally
suggested as a name for a punk band.
I would like to suggest some similar names for punk bands,
in the event that you or someone you know has occasion
to name a punk band.

The Delicate Lace Doilies
Ampersand Associates
A Hint of Cod
The Pleasethankyous

delicious music! yay!

Ok. So. My relative of whom I have spoken previously
writes often about live music events. I also enjoy live music events.
In principle.
In reality, I get to attend one every Mayan Long Year; or practically
fricking never.
Rest assured however, gentle reader (or roughneck layabout reader) ,that this does not bother me.
I have a rich inner life, which occasionally involves giggling at inappropriate times.
I also derive much delight and enjoyment from RECORDED music.
Yes. That's right.
I can have awesome sounds pumped directly into my auditory headholes,
efffectively whenever I want.
And I don't smell smokey after.

You too, can enjoy Recorded music in a variety of ways .
Figure it out.

This shit here is pretty kickass. Give it a whorl, Fauntleroy!

grow hemp for the war.

Current events

When I was very young, and before I knew truly what the phrase implied, I was panicked when I heard the phrase "the Decline of Western Civilization" for the first time.
Now, most days, I feel like Babylon can't fall fast enough to suit me. It's death throes are
taking too many good people from this plane.
Found this cool quote of the day from Wikiquote:

"We thought we were done with these things but we were wrong. We thought, because we had power, we had wisdom. We thought the long train would run to the end of Time.We thought the light would increase. Now the long train stands derailed and the bandits loot it.Now the boar and the asp have power in our time. Now the night rolls back on the West and the night is solid. Our fathers and ourselves sowed dragon's teeth. Our children know and suffer the armed men."

Wow!

New job still Awesome-ville.
Lots of cool-ish comedy loving freethinkers in my class;
which I am totally not used to, but I'll manage.

Tangential fun fact- I've been considering tattoos again. I see
lots of cool ones around K-town, and whenever I ask
where they got them the answer is always the same:
"Your moms house"
Hahahahahah!:)
just kidding.
It's Saint Tattoo on Broadway.

Once I get financial backing I'm totally getting one(s)
